The prize for the best outdoor ad in this year's "Storartat" awards has gone to Lowe Brindfors for their Alcro – Hockey Tackle campaign. A jury comprising representatives from the advertising industry identified the winner among many creative entries submitted by agencies from all over Sweden.
The Storartat awards are arranged by Brand Factory in partnership with 3M on the inspiration site ettstegfore.se. This award aims to champion modern, innovative use of outdoor advertising as a medium.
"We wanted to find a way of honouring innovative use of outdoor advertising involving billboards and banners, for example," says Zeo Neovius, Marketing & Business Development Manager at Brand Factory. With its Hockey Tackle campaign, Lowe Brindfors demonstrated the new creative heights that can be reached by using the latest technology and new materials.
The jury concluded:
"By using every last little bit of advertising space and using their intuition to choose the right materials and technology, Lowe Brindfors are the clear winner in the Storartat 2012 awards. Their entry, Hockey Tackle, demonstrates enormous creativity, years of experience and admirable self-confidence."
Besides the honour and the publicity, the winner of Storartat 2012 will also be given advertising space worth SEK 100 000 on SL buses. Brand Factory is providing the materials and printing, while Clear Channel is providing the advertising space.
The Hockey Tackle campaign ran on billboards in Stockholm over the 2010/11 New Year period when Alcro became the official sponsor of the Tre Kronor national ice hockey team. The campaign comprised a range of colourful photos of ice hockey tackles, where the colours splashed and ran outside the frames of the pictures.
